Dean's Message

Harry Muir

Thank you for visiting the UW-Waukesha website. As you continue to browse and learn more about the campus, you’ll find that not only do we offer high-quality associates degree programs, we also serve the greater Waukesha community through fine arts offerings, continuing education courses, pre-college programs, and collaborative bachelor’s and master’s degrees.

Since I started as Dean/CEO on July 5, 2011, I’ve been continually impressed by the caliber of our faculty and their commitment to their disciplines. They collaborate to offer programs such as undergraduate research and honors courses, which are nearly unheard of at a two-year institution. Our fine arts faculty and staff produce high quality theatre and music performances that are very accessible to the public, and our art gallery displays the work of both students and community artists.

We pride ourselves on offering a quality University of Wisconsin education with the lowest tuition in the UW System. We hire faculty who are experts in their field and put them in the classroom with students each day, never relying on teaching assistants. Through the Guaranteed Transfer Program, students who successfully complete their first two years of coursework at UW-Waukesha are guaranteed admission as a junior into any UW four-year institution, including UW-Madison.

If you’re a prospective student, I strongly encourage you to start your education at UW-Waukesha. If you’re a community member, I challenge you to think of new and innovative ways we can partner with Waukesha County and the surrounding community. If you’re a current student and would like become involved in campus life, contact Sue Kalinka, Associate Director for Student Development.

If you have any questions, concerns, or ideas, feel free to share them with me or the appropriate staff/faculty member.
