For detailed comprehensive Financial Aid information, please visit the UW Colleges Money Matters website.
Use the net price calculator to determine your tuition costs after financial aid.
Important Note: Students must apply for financial aid each year, after January 1st for the following fall and spring semesters. Students who submit the FAFSA by April 15th will recieve funding priority. Some forms of financial aid are limited and the funds are no longer availible for later applicants.
The UW-Waukesha Enrollment Services Office staff and advisors in the Academic Success Center can assist students with financial aid. We are here to help you and answer your questions as you work your way through the financial aid process.
Complete and submit the FAFSA. The UW Waukesha Colleges school code is 003897. You'll need a copy of your most recent tax return and W-2. If you are considered a dependent, you will need to submit your parent information also. Submitting the FAFSA is FREE. You (and your parent, if you are a dependent student), will need to apply for a PIN to sign your FAFSA electronically.
Students applying for aid for the 2013-14 academic year are invited to attend College Goal Wisconsin event at UW-Waukesha on Saturday, February 23, 2013 from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. for hands-on help with the FAFSA.
New freshman, re-entry, and transfer students must also submit a UW System application for Admission.
You will recieve your SAR by e-mail within 1-2 weeks after you submitted the FAFSA. Check over your SAR carefully and make any corrections needed.
To recieve Direct Loans and state grants, you must be enrolled in classes at least half-time (6 credits during fall and spring semesters). You can be registered for as few as three credits during a semester to receive a PELL grant.
Some students will need to submit additional information. If this applies to you, a request will be sent in the mail. Watch your mail and respond as soon as possible. Refer to the UW Colleges Financial Aid website for additional assistance and forms.
You will recieve an award offer in the mail from UW Colleges Financial Aid Office. Decide what aid you want to accept, sign the award letter and return to UW-Waukesha Enrollment Services Office. If you have misplaced your award letter, please contact Enrollment Services so that a replacement Award Offer can be ordered.
If you accept Direct Loans, you have to complete the Loan Entrance Counseling and the Master Promissory Note (MPN).
If you expect a financial aid refund because your award covered more than the cost of tuition, you may be eligible for a book deferment. In order to be eligible, you must have received and submitted your financial aid award offer and completed your online loan counseling and Master Promissory Note.
Book deferrment forms can acquired online or in Enrollment Services. They should be dropped off in the Enrollment Services office and can be picked up the next day. If you qualify, the approved form can be taken to the campus bookstore and used to bill your book fees to your spring balance (which will be taken out of Financial Aid prior to your refund being processed). If you have questions, call Enrollment Services at 262-521-5040 or stop by the office.
