Payment Information

Advance Tuition Deposit

Every student - new, reentry, continuing- registering at UW-Waukesha is required to pay an advance tuition deposit for the fall and spring semesters. The tuition deposit is intended to verify and ensure the student's intent to take classes at UW-Waukesha.

  • You may register on-line
  • Pay the $100 advance tuition deposit by at least one business day prior to registration.
  • The Advance Tuition Deposit cannot be covered in advance by a student's financial aid award or scholarship as these funds are not distributed until after classes begin.

For Fall 2012 you will forfeit the $100 if you withdraw after June 30, 2012.

For Spring 2013 you will forfeit the $100 if you withdraw after November 30, 2012.

Payment Due Date

You will not be sent an invoice; view your balance on your PRISM account.

Payment on the web

Payment with credit or debit card

  1. Access your account through PRISM (Home>SA Self Service>Learner Services>Finances>Make a Payment)
  2. Use MasterCard, Discover
  3. Complete the payment and credit card information
  4. Submit the payment
  5. Wait for confirmation
  6. A 2.5% processing charge will be assessed for a credit card payment

Payment with electronic check

  1. Access your account through PRISM (Home>SA Self Service>Learner Services>Finances>Make a Payment)
  2. Complete the electronic check information
  3. Submit payment
  4. Wait for confirmation
  5. There is no convenience charge for web checking

Payment by mail

  1. Confirm your balance on your account
  2. Make check payable to: UW Waukesha
  3. Write your student ID or name on your check
  4. If sending payments for more than one student please identify each student by name and amount
  5. Allow at least 5 business days mailing time for Domestic mail
  6. Do not send cash
  7. Mail to:

  8. Checks sent through the mail are applied to the student's account the same day that they are received. Review your account online to see that the payment has been applied.

Payment in person

Use the Business/Cashier's Office window

  1. Payments may be made with cash or check; no credit cards please.

Use the drop box for after-hours payment (next to the Business/Cashier's Office window)

  1. Do not place cash in the drop box
  2. Make check payable to: UW-Waukesha
  3. Write your student ID or name on your check
  4. Place in envelope with your name on it, seal envelope and deposit in drop box
  5. Payments will be applied to the student's account on the next business day
