Admissions Information

International Students are students who come to the United States on a student visa for the purpose of studying at a college or university. They are admitted on the basis of superior scholastic ability and must prove the ability to finance their education and living expenses. International students are not eligible to receive financial aid.

Admission Requirements

UW-Waukesha requires international students to take the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language). A minimum score of 500 on the paper-based test, 173 on the computer-based test or 61 on the internet-based test is required for admission. For more information on TOEFL contact:

How to Apply:

Submit the following:

  • A completed Student Application available online or from UW-Waukesha Enrollment Services. 
  • A non-refundable application fee of $44 (bank draft or international money order in U.S. dollars).
  • Official records from secondary school, colleges, and universities attended (in original language and in English translation) showing courses taken and grades assigned each year. Students from non-English speaking countries must submit officially certified English translations. An official of the educational institution must certify copies as true copies; personal photocopies are not acceptable without express permission from the university. Any questions about this may be directed to the admissions office. These documents must have an official seal and an original ink signature of your institution’s headmaster or registrar. Official transcripts from educational institutions in the United States should be sent from the issuing institution directly to UW-Waukesha.
  • Certification of degrees earned with the dates granted.
  • Official TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) score report sent directly from the Educational Testing Service.
  • Completed financial support statement. An original bank statement on official bank letterhead in U.S. dollars from your sponsor’s bank and all other supporting documentation of financial resources sufficient for nine months of study.
  • Students who are already at a university or college in the United States and do not plan to leave the country before enrolling at UW-Waukesha must submit a transfer clearance form, an official transcript from the university last attended and a copy of the current I-20 form.
