Newly-Admitted Students

Congratulations on your admission to UW-Waukesha! If you are looking for assistance on what to do next, you'll find it here. All admitted students will receive an admission information packet in the mail. If you have not yet received this information, but have submitted all application materials, please contact Enrollment Services at UW-Waukesha at (262) 521-5041.

Once admitted, you'll follow this step-by-step guide to get you through the registration process:

Step 1

All students need to create a username and password to be used on our campus computing systems. To do so you must go to the PRISM page. Click on the button " Access USER ID and Password" and follow the instructions to obtain your USER ID and create a password. If you are having issues obtaining your USER ID please contact Enrollment Services at UW-Waukesha at (262) 521-5041.

Step 2

All new freshmen will need to take placement tests for English and Math. Transfer students without prior college credit in either area will also be required to take placement tests. If you are a non-degree/Special student and are planning to register for a course that has a prerequisite of English or Math you will be required to take the placement test(s) or show proof or having met the prerequisite (transcripts must be sent to Enrollment Services).

Step 3

New Freshmen

As a new freshmen you will be required to attend Advising and Registration. At Advising and Registration (AR) you will receive important information about becoming a student at UW-Waukesha. Advisor(s) will walk you through the advising process and help you choose classes for your first semester at UW-Waukesha.

Transfer Students

As a new transfer student you will be encouraged to attend a Transfer Transition Session. At your Transfer Transition Session (TTS) you will receive important information about becoming a student at UW-Waukesha. Advisor(s) will walk you through the advising process and help you choose classes for your first semester at UW-Waukesha.

Transfer students may meet with an advisor prior to registration, as needed. If you have been admitted on probation as a transfer student you will be required to meet with an advisor. Please call the Academic Success Center at (262) 521-5476 to schedule a meeting with an academic advisor.

Non-Degree/Special Students

Non-degree seeking students are not required to meet with an academic advisor prior to registration.

Please note, if you have met prerequisites for a course you are planning to take at UW-Waukesha elsewhere, you MUST provide proof of having met the prerequisite by providing unofficial transcripts to the Enrollment Services Office at UW-Waukesha. Manual enrollment by the Enrollment Services Office may be required for courses requiring a prerequisite that you met on another campus.

Step 4

All degree-seeking students are invited to participate in New Student Orientation prior the your first semester on campus. For more information about this event, please go to the New Student Orientation page.

Fall 2013 Enrollment Deadlines for New Freshmen

August 1 - last day for complete application to be evaluated for full consideration - all materials must be received by this date to be considered for admission

August 2 - final deadine for admitted students to submit $100 enrollment deposit to the Business Services Office (or online in PRISM) and register for PT and AR

August 3 - final regular placement test date for fall 2013 - all admitted students must take placement tests on or before this date to enroll in fall classes

August 15 - final advising and registration date for fall 2013 - all admitted students must attend advising and registration on or before this date to enroll in fall classes
