WAUKESHA – University of Wisconsin-Waukesha student Matt Roling, Delafield, has been offered a Nicholas Scholarship for 2000. A spring 2000 UW-Waukesha Associate of Arts and Sciences degree recipient, Roling can use the $2,500 award toward next year’s tuition and expenses at the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Business.
The scholarship program was established by former University of Wisconsin Regent Ab Nicholas specifically for students in the freshman/sophomore UW Colleges. The renewable award is offered annually to two students who will transfer to the School of Business at UW-Madison. They must have earned at least 54 credits with a grade point average of at least 3.2 and complete a written statement of goals. Students are recommended for the scholarship award by the deans of their campuses.
Roling, a member of Phi Theta Kappa international honor society for two-year colleges, is the only student among the spring semester degree candidates to receive his degree with honors. He also was recognized with an achievement award for his participation in student activities.
Nicholas, a graduate of UW-Madison and former basketball player, is the founder of a mutual fund investment group in Milwaukee.
