WAUKESHA – For people who have been away from school for a time but who would like to go to college, the University of Wisconsin-Waukesha will offer a two-evening Academic Success Workshop. Sessions are Monday, November 13, and Wednesday, November 15, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Commons Room 158.
Returning to school can be intimidating. Returning students often fear they have lost the ability to focus their mental powers on academic subjects. Led by learning strategies specialist Susan Ziegert, the workshop is designed to provide the skill-training that can make the difference. It will cover effective reading, studying and time-management techniques.
There is a $20 materials fee, and registration by November 9 is required. Scholarships to cover the cost are available. For information or to register, contact Mary Edwards, UW-Waukesha’s adult student advisor, at (262) 521-5200. |
