WAUKESHA – The University of Wisconsin-Waukesha student Diversity Club will hold its third annual Fiesta para la Comunidad in the dining area Friday, October 27, from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m. This year’s event is being called El Dia de los Muertos, or the Day of the Dead, recalling the traditional Hispanic celebration that is associated with Halloween.
Admission, food and entertainment are all free, and the whole community is invited to enjoy the celebration with students, faculty, and staff.
The program includes entertainment for young and old with a piñata for the children, a costume contest for all ages, and both live and recorded music. Everyone is encouraged to come in costume. Food has been donated by local restaurants and food distributors.
UW-Waukesha, one of the 13 freshman-sophomore UW Colleges campuses, is located at 1500 N. University Dr., Waukesha. Free evening parking is available on the street and in student lots. |
