Exhibit Celebrates Cancer Survivors

WAUKESHA – A traveling photographic exhibit featuring people who have lived through cancer diagnosis and treatment will be displayed in the University of Wisconsin-Waukesha Commons lobby February 10 through 17.

Covenant Healthcare has assembled pictures and stories of cancer survivors in order to give voice to their experiences and hope to others who may encounter a similar diagnosis. “Beyond Cancer: Journeys of the Human Spirit” delivers an edifying and inspirational message by focusing on the courageous and sometimes miraculous stories of real people, who come from culturally diverse backgrounds and all walks of life.

The exhibit started its tour of the Milwaukee area in early December and continues until the middle of May. UW-Waukesha is the only scheduled Waukesha stop. Its presentation here is co-sponsored by the student Wellness Alliance.

“We are so pleased to be able to offer this display here in Waukesha for campus staff, students, and the community,” remarked Patti Wise, the student club’s advisor and the AODA program coordinator for several of the UW Colleges campuses.

Photographs in the exhibit were shot by John Nienhuis, Sue Bartfield, and Jeff Seipel.
