WAUKESHA Mark Lococo, associate professor of communication & theatre arts at the University of Wisconsin-Waukesha, will direct a campus production of Story Theatre. Performances will be Saturdays, March 8 and 15, at 2:00 and 7:00 p.m. and Sundays, March 9 and 16, at 2:00 p.m. in the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre located in the Fine Arts Center on campus at 1500 N. University Dr., Waukesha.
Adapted by Paul Sills from some of the lesser-known tales of the Brothers Grimm and Aesop, Story Theatre is a romp through two of the most familiar literary forms the fairy tale and the fable. Throughout history, these stories have offered insight into the human psyche, while teaching children basic life lessons about good and bad, wise and foolish, and the consequence of actions. Among the stories brought to life are The Little Peasant, The Robber Bridegroom, Henny Penny, The Master Thief, and The Fisherman and his Wife.
The ensemble of improvisational actors includes:
Brookfield: Erin Rickert
Menomonee Falls: Will Wilson
Milwaukee: Juanita Cordova-Mangione
New Berlin: Kelly Banach
Pewaukee: Adam Gaulke and Casey Van Dam
Wales: Carissa Svatek
Waukesha: Jennie Johnson and Elizabeth Rankin
Jessica Betts, Mukwonago, will serve as stage manager for the production, and Jeff Smerz, Milwaukee, is technical director and designer.
