WAUKESHA – When Blain Fowler,
Milwaukee, took over as director of Marketing & Communications at
the University of Wisconsin-Waukesha on Oct. 20, the department long
known as University Relations also received a name change to reflect
its new focus on marketing.
Fowler most recently
had been the public information coordinator for the West Bend School
District and previously worked at Midwest Airlines, revamping its
intranet system. He spent seven years at Marquette University,
serving as the assistant director of media relations for sports
information. He and his wife own Wildcard Gymnastics in Milwaukee.
A
graduate of Southern Methodist University, Dallas, with a BA in
anthropology and in television/radio, he earned a master’s degree
from Texas Christian University, Fort Worth, where he worked in
media relations and publications as a graduate student.
