Laura

Wauwatosa
Majoring in Veterinary Medicine

“UW-Waukesha has been an amazing experience. At UW-Waukesha, all of my professors know me by name. I have had many opportunities ranging from independent study to research opportunities, which I did not expect to find at a two-year campus.”

Curtis

Brookfield
Majoring in Psychology

"As a two-year university, UW-Waukesha helps me to find more insight from my classes. The down to earth class size allows me to actually meet and get to know my professors. In two ways this sets UW-Waukesha apart from all other UW campuses: you get the extra help you need, when you need it; and the closeness with the staff prepares you for what it's like in the real working world, working one on one with people from different backgrounds and ages."

Cassandra

Pewaukee Majoring in Music Education or Music Therapy

"I attend UW-Waukesha because it is close to my home (I live in Pewaukee) and it is affordable for me. Beacause my major was undecided when I first started college, I took a variety of classes that helped me to decide what I was really interested in; I now hope to major in music education or music therapy. One aspect of UW-Waukesha that I found to be very positive was how personal classes are: it is easy to get to know other students and the professors because of the small class sizes. I found that most professors were very helpful and were willing to take the time to help me when I needed questions answered."

Charlotte

Majoring in Pharmacy
Current Campus: UW-Madison

"Transferring to UW-Waukesha to finish my pre-pharmacy courses was one of the best decisions I have ever made. I really believe that I would not have been able to earn the high grades I did to be accepted into UW-Madison's School of Pharmacy without attending UW-Waukesha. I absolutely loved the smaller class sizes because this allowed me to ask questions and get immediate feedback from all the great professors. In addition, I got to know so many people at UW-Waukesha through classes and campus organizations. This very much added to my positive experience."

Katie

Degree: UW-Waukesha, 2007
Major: English and Journalism double major
Current Campus: UW-Milwaukee

"When I first considered enrolling at Waukesha back in 2005 it's main appeal was the affordable cost of tuition and the campus' close proximity to my home. As I look back on my two years as a UW-Waukesha student and campus employee, however, I believe that the greatest aspect of this particular campus is the strong sense of community which one can experience here. Since I am an English and Journalism major, the opportunity to network with professors and university staff in these fields has been invaluable to me. I have gained priceless experience working as a student employee for the campus Library, Study Center, and Orientation Team, as well as getting to know professors and staff who are currently in the line of work I wish to eventually be in myself. Not to mention, these same individuals have helped tremendously in broadening my network of mentors even further by giving me contacts at UW-Milwaukee before I even began classes there. I am firmly convinced that UW-Waukesha has done a perfect job preparing me for my next step."

“UW-Waukesha provided me leadership opportunities I might not have had at a larger campus. In the classroom, the faculty challenged me in ways that allowed me to grow as a student. The money I saved while at UW-Waukesha allowed me to enter into law school with little debt.”

“UW-Waukesha helped me to get to where I am by giving me the ability to network with others. By having small classes I was able to work in groups and build strong friendships. At UW-Waukesha I was able to become a leader and at the same time a team player.”

Cari

Degree: Carroll College Nursing Degree, 2005
Registered Nurse at Community Memorial Hospital, Menomonee Falls

“I decided UW-Waukesha would be the best start for me because it was close to home and one of the smaller colleges nearby.  I had many fears before entering college and UW-Waukesha helped me overcome those fears. The professors were there to answer my questions and I knew where to go if I needed extra help. The staff in the Study Center were always there to help you with a smile. UW-Waukesha was a great transition for me and prepared me very well for Carroll College.”

Matthew

"UW-Waukesha offers students from all backgrounds the opportunity to start reaching toward the life they want.  My close relationships with faculty and friends helped me better shape my idea of where I wanted to go and what I wanted to do.  Today, I travel across North America as a consultant for one of the world's largest corporations.  My job is exciting and rewarding and I know I wouldn't be where I am today without the solid foundation of skills and supporters I built at Waukesha."

Sarah

Degrees: UW-Waukesha, 2004; UW-Whitewater, B.A. in Public Relations; Minor: Advertising
Relationship Marketing Production Specialist at Bader Rutter in Brookfield

“Going to UW-Waukesha proved to be a financially sound choice for me. With such reasonable tuition, and no room and board costs, I not only transferred debt free, but also graduated in four years debt free. If I had gone to an out-of-state school or a four-year college, I'm sure I would be paying off my college debts for many years to come.”
